• Big Backyard Parks, playgrounds, and yards of all shapes and sizes were made for play, play, play! Our bodies get a gross-motor workout when we go on a pretend adventure in our Big Backyard.

Mixed-Age Classes – Ages 1 - 4 years (with Caregiver)

• Down on the Ground Come explore the world of creatures found at our feet as we hop like bunnies, crawl like caterpillars, and move high and low like squirrels. We’ll hear and imitate crickets chirping and dogs barking, perform a familiar spider fingerplay, and have fun with nonsense words, too. Through songs, listening activities, and vocal and instrument play, we’ll deepen the sense of wonder that children have about the world.

• Carnival of Music (with field trip!) Welcome to the carnival where we’ll move, play, and sing! Through sounds, stories, songs, and games, we’ll learn all about what carnivals have to offer: carousels, clowns, pretzels for sale, and so much more. The final class includes a destination FIELD TRIP with extended time to the Story City Antique Carousel in Story City, IA.

• Around the Farm (with field trip!) Put on your overalls and boots because it’s time to visit the farm! We’ll waddle like ducks, moo like cows, go on a hayride, and listen to the wind blowing in the corn. As we play, sing, and dance, we’ll strengthen our fine- and gross-motor skills, develop inhibitory control, explore timbre, and so much more. The final class includes a destination FIELD TRIP with extended time to Ms. Judy’s (founder of ECMusic of Ames) Hobby Farm in west Ames, where you’ll visit some goats and dogs and enjoy the large swing set on a gorgeous acreage!

Wild Animal Park Camp! – Ages 3 – 4 years

• Your child will embark on an unforgettable adventure as we hop like frogs, stomp like elephants, dance a Jungle Dance, and do a Kangaroo Bounce. We'll fly like birds through a World of Wonder and take a walk on the wild side as we focus on social and emotional development as well as the power of Kindermusik on brain development. The 75 min. will be filled will musical fun involving pretend play, crafts, instruments, songs, stories, snacks, and more! Family members will join for last 10 minutes of each day.

Jazz Kitchen Camp! – Ages 4 – 6 years

• This exceptional camp takes jazz music into the kitchen with singing, dancing, instrument playing, drama, arts/crafts, food preparation and more! Your child will explore food in its many dimensions - shopping, dicing, preparing - all to the rhythms and sounds of jazz. There will even be time set aside to play the piano! A daily “recess” will be offered in the kids gym. Family members will join for last 10 minutes of each day.
